The stay was enjoyable! The hotel was quiet and I loved the streets of Reading. The location was incredible and brilliant, for example, Q Club was within walking distance of the venue. There were good beds and coffee/tea making equipment, multi-channel TV and ironing facilities inside the room.

comfortable room but dining options could improve
The room was comfortable and stylishly furnished. The staff were very nice and attentive.
Entry through the bar/restaurant can be confusing for first-time guests.

Booked a room with clean comfortable bed. The location was incredible, only 5 minutes walk to a historic market town.

Nice pub in the hotel with decent bar food, good beer and big TV's showing soccer that night. Room was big and quiet. Comfy bed with comfy pillows (I'm particular about pillows).
One garbage can had not be emptied. Tv was too small for how far away it was from the bed.

Basic, good value, central, good breakfast

The price included a great breakfast and access to free wi-fi whilst being centrally located - all of which are reasons why I chose the hotel.I was a woman travelling on her own to attend a family funeral and I didn't feel uncomfortable in the bar/restaurant at all (which is often the case when a woman travels on her own). I would definitely consider this hotel again.
No lift and I was two floors up.

Unique Dickensian decor, lively cocktail bar, engaging cocktail-making sessions
Consider upgrading room sound insulation!!! Rooms could greatly benefit from a thorough cleanliness overhaul!!!

Second time i have stayed here. Rooms are always clean and very comfortable with plenty of space. Fantastic shower. Staff are really helpful and friendly.
Both times i have stayed here the TV and DVD have not worked properly. Could not get a decent picture at all this time.

The location was fantastic, being just a short walk from the city center, which made it convenient for exploring the local attractions. The room itself was quite spacious and had a nice shower with good water pressure, which I appreciated after a long day. the air conditioning didn't work very well, making the room a bit uncomfortable at times. the hospitality from the staff was a highlight of my stay.
